In 2024, everyone will be able to experience the magic of Second Life in the palm of their hands. While the early Private Alpha release includes some popular and much-requested features, we expect that mobile will quickly evolve to more closely align with the desktop functionality as the year progresses.

Now 20 years on, this appeal seems to still have some weight. In 2021, it had been reported that there were still some 64.7 million active users on Second Life, with Web Tribunal then stating that in 2023 there was a daily average of 200,000 users spanning 200 countries [figures differ per reporting outlet].
